SCOTT ROBSON is your man with the scores on the doors…

Martin Dubravka – 6. Made a couple of decent saves from Brereton Diaz, but didn’t have a lot to do despite us being overrun at times in the first half. I bet he was secretly disappointed he didn’t get the chance to save a late pen after it was overturned.

Tino Livramento – 6. Started the game ragged, should really have got rid of the ball for Sheffield United’s goal and did not look comfortable at all. As the gaps opened up after half time he was more prominent going forward and boosted his rating because of that.

Dan Burn – 8. In a bizarre game, in which we probably only played really well for fifteen minutes, Burn saved us from total embarrassment, in the first half especially, with two great blocks which stopped us going in well behind. Burn’s interventions will end up being footnotes, but they laid the foundations today and his no nonsense, no shit, centre half performance gets people like me every time.

Fabian Schar – 5. Schar’s performance in the first half was the exact opposite to the above. He looked like he thought he could just stroll around and the Blades made him look silly a few times before the weekly game of “is he injured or is he not” started. The answer was, he was, and on came Krafth.

Lewis Hall – 6. His and Newcastle’s first half was summed up when he nipped in for a great tackle but then proceeded to give it straight away. Like Livramento, he upped things in the second half but was quite quiet all round. That, sometimes, isn’t a bad thing.

Bruno Guimaraes – 8. The full Bruno repertoire today. Frustrating in the first half, going down softly on the edge of the box before giving the ball away cheaply. Then, bang. The hundred million release clause looks cheap at half the price as he ghosts in and nods the crucial second before running the show for a twenty minute spell. Would we have him any other way?

Flashback Friday – Sheffield Utd (h) November 1989

Sean Longstaff – 6. Got the usual moans and groans for the misplaced pass for the goal and not shooting when we had a clear sight of goal, but many a time it wasn’t his fault. Bruno fired some wild ones at him and Livramento should have got rid before the pass for the opener. Steady enough, but it would take a performance that would have Socrates blushing to get some people praising him.

Anthony Gordon – 7. Missed an open goal which I’m sure he didn’t “visualise”, but after a first half when the end product wasn’t there, the pre match prediction that Sheffield United wouldn’t be able to handle his pace and movement was right in the end.

Elliot Anderson – 5. All about opinions and many will disagree here, but I just didn’t think Anderson did enough today. After the brilliance of Tottenham it frustrated me that he went back into his shell today and was peripheral. It annoys me more because I want him to succeed here. He needs to be grabbing games like this by the scruff of the neck.

Jacob Murphy – 6. What a ball for the equaliser. The bend was really evident from where I was standing. Although it was awful defending from them for one ball to release the most in form player in the league, at least it was a mint one. Overall not bad without hitting the heights .

Alexander Isak – 8. Like in Gordon’s case, the question pre match was whether a team who have conceded 300 goals this year wouldn’t have been able to cope with the only real world class player in our ranks. The answer? Nah, they couldn’t. What a finish for 1-1. It was sublime and shows where he’s at right now. The pen was always going in and although he went quiet when Wilson came on, Isak remains the big key to us going continental next season.

SUBSTITUTES

Emil Krafth (for Schar, 46 minutes) – 6. Was it just a coincidence that Krafth coming on saw us blow Sheffield United away? No, it really was a game changing substitution. At least he seemed to be defending properly which we did not do before he came on.

Callum Wilson (for Anderson, 66 minutes) – 7. All the Blades needed when they were on their knees was to see Wilson coming on. They knew he would score, he did and we certainly did. What a finish and a timely reminder he’s still around and a late season renaissance could tip the European balance our way.

Harvey Barnes (for Jacob Murphy, 66 minutes) – 6. Set up Wilson’s goal expertly and did well enough when he came on .

Alex Murphy (for Hall, 81 minutes) – N/A. A hairy moment for Murphy when it looked like he’d given a penalty away, but having played in the second tier in the Republic Of Ireland at 15 years old, I’m sure he’s been through much worse A big part to play with Schar’s injury?

Matt Ritchie (for Gordon, 81 minutes) – N/A. Celebrated getting his HGV tickets by coming on and had everyone in the palm of his hands.
