As regulars will know Alex and his Pod Squad have themselves a regular Friday night slotPodcastweeklyimage at 7 pm on Radio Northumberland and that has been continuing over the close-season.

Over these football free weeks (I’m not counting the pre-season friendlies as proper football) our true faith podcast team have been discussing various subjects from the Newcastle United drawer and whilst last week’s included the Alan Pardew era at United, this week’s was a more interactive theme and led on the worst and best away games we’ve been to as fans.

Obviously, this theme is hugely subjective and dependent upon your age and how long you’ve been going to games and indeed how many away games you’ve managed to get to.

Its also dependent upon the criteria you might apply. For example, the weekend precedingPheonixphone1 that game on 24/May/09 and relegation at Vile Park I’d had a brilliant weekend with a great set of lads in Birmingham whereas Inter away at the San Siro resulted only in a draw but remains one of the most fondly recalled away trips ever.

I wasn’t there myself but older Mags who were at the Hawthorns during the 1974 FAC run look back at that game with great fondness as do even older supporters from the 50s and Cup ties with Portsmouth.

Don’t worry if you missed the Radio Show last night as its available here as a podcast and to listen to it all you need to do is click here.

If you want to indulge in any nostalgia as a spin-off from the show, blast away in these here comments boxes just below.

That is all.
