There is no Newcastle United this weekend but still plenty great Geordie teams in action. Here is the true faith pick of the action.

First up is Blyth Spartans who are top of the Northern Premier League and at home this weekend to Rushall Olympic and hoping to extend their 10 point gap. There is no finer venue in the North East to take in non-league football and for those who love their football but haven’t yet been to Croft Park, I heartily recommend a trip to a proper football ground.

Of the Northern League, a lot of Tyneside based teams seem to be playing away this weekend but one stand out fixture in Northern League Division 1 where Dunston take on Whitley Bay and that could be a great game. Elsewhere Morpeth are at home to Washington, Ashington are at home to Newton Aycliffe.

In case you  are wondering Gateshead, in fifth place in the National League are away at Eastleigh.

Wherever you go this Saturday remember to buy a pie, a pint, a tea and a little bit of merchandise to keep the North East’s fantastic non-league football scene alive and well.
