Deputy Editor Gareth Harrison previews Newcastle United’s opening match of the 2013/14 season against Manchester City.
Despite United having lost seven of their last eight matches against City, young Mr Harrison is optimistic of Alan Pardew’s men returning from the Etihad with a share of the points.

I have the same feeling. I think it’s a mixture of it being the first game of the season and a lot of hope. In game one, you’ve got to believe that your team can surprise a few people.
We know we’ve got some good players and can beat anyone on our day.
I think it’s important to be positive, until we have a reason not to be (on the pitch).
