It never ceases to amaze me how much appeal our club has even outside of its natural catchment area of the city, Tyneside and the wider north east region. All over the UK there is an amazing good will towards the club which I believe is based upon a recognition that United is a proper football club, representative of a real community with possibly one of the strongest identities in the country.

Even further afield in foreign climes United attracts a fascination with those who have a greater substance than the trophy chasing tourists who flock open mouthed to the usual venues they gawped at on their TV screens.

In this latest issue, a Norwegian Mag, Bjorn Westblad explains his growing fascination with Newcastle United, our city and the relationship he has with United on the other side of the North Sea. This is an excellent piece of writing, really personal to Bjorn and well worth your time in reading as it provides a different dimension to our support. You will really enjoy it.
