Firstly, I should say a big thank you to every one of you who has bought one of our Pavel Is A Geordie and Sir Bobby Robson t-shirts. All of the profit raised from both t-shirts was designed to raise money for charity and that is exactly what will happen.
We had the Sir Bobby t-shirt on sale for part of last year but we brought out the Pavel t-shirt following our former goalie’s sudden death just before Christmas.
I can say we raised £2000 profit from the t-shirts and that is the amount that will be donated to charity and good causes.
£1000 will be donated to the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation and £500 will be donated to the Freeman Heart Unit. We intend for the remaining £500 to be paid into a trust fund which we understand has been established for Pavel’s children. We’ll hopefully have the details to do that soon.
Once again, many, many thanks to all of you who bought one of these t-shirts and for being so patient as we were rather overwhelmed by the demand but we got there in the end.
£2000 isn’t an enormous sum of money but it will make a positive difference and its evidence of the good nature that exists amongst our club’s excellent support.
