Football is the biggest and most beautiful sport on the planet.
And from the top down, the game is crumbling.
As FIFA President, Sepp Blatter has overseen an organisation that has had its senior executives dragged out of hotel rooms at dawn by the FBI. He has overseen the most controversial World Cup bids in the organisation’s history – both of which stink of corruption. He has overseen the Qatar bid come to fruition despite the deaths of construction workers. And he has stayed at the top despite persistent reports about FIFA’s serious financial mismanagement.Our FIFA video game purchases have helped him finance a £19 million film about himself!
Me and my friends set this petition up for Sepp Blatter to resign as FIFA President because we support our local teams. My team, AFC Wimbledon, have shown that fan-power CAN make a difference – we pitched together to create our club which the fans still own today. We cant just leave it to the FBI and the sponsors to pressurise his exit, we can gather together in the same way to show our anger at his foul regime.
Little wonder the FBI are now stepping in. And British politicians are calling for change — MP Damian Collins wants the serious fraud office to investigate the World Cup bid and that’s great to hear. But it will take months of painstaking inertia before any such investigation could even dream of taking place.
In the meantime, this petition gives football fans a voice, an opportunity to rally their collective anger at FIFA’s president.
FIFA makes billions from sponsorships and we are the unhappy customers that fill their coffers. We pack the stands every week. We travel to international tournaments and pay our Sky bills. And as customers we have the right to hold the boss culpable.

I don’t like Sepp Blatter, Platini etc because of their Anti-English sentiment and the obvious corruption that goes on.
The alarm bells are ringing for me though because i wan to know what it has to do with the F.B.I ?
Personally i do not want any American involvement in this matter and they should keep their noses out of it imo.
Let us not forget theses are the people who are spying on everyone so their involvement is not welcome !
As far as I’m aware the crimes being committed eg money laundering were mostly going through big American banks, therefore the crime was being committed on ther soil. Hence it falling under their jurisdiction. Who cares as long as it is all rooted out. Frankly I respect the Americans for standing up to FIFA and sorting out what we have all knew for years
I agree – journalists like Andrew Jennings have been highlighting the corruption at FIFA for years and years but nothing positive ever happened. Blatter blagged his way through dirty scandal after dirty scandal. If the FBI (and Swiss authorities) can dig out the worms, brilliant.
Exactly. As soon as Russia and Qatar got world cups it was all confirmed. Absolute joke. And isn’t the point no authorities have stood p to FIFA an they have been above the law? Go get em FBI and make sure blatter goes with it
I’m fairly sure a documentary was aired around the time bids were submitted/considered for 2018 & 2022 and there was some panic about whether the programme would affect our bid. Well of course it would – one has to keep such dirty dealings quiet and fill the brown envelopes to the maximum. Fairly certain too the Dutch didn’t complete the necessary forms to agree no nasty tax was passed to FIFA and all the yummy cash went into FIFA’s coffers! So many opportunities in the past were ignored because no-one had the guts to push.
If there was no american involvement nothing would have happened and they’d still be getting away with it. These arrests are the result of years of painstaking investigation and evidence gathering into widespread corruption, vote-rigging, money-laundering, bribery and god knows what else: of course the FBI are involved and thank god they are.
