This club is the oldest amateur club playing within the city boundaries of the City of Newcastle Upon Tyne. It was formed in 1894 following a meeting at a house on Leazes Terrace (directly to the rear of the East Stand at St James’ Park). The club still competes in non-league within a city suburb. It can maybe boast one of the best playing surfaces in the city. The club’s colours are Red & White. Don’t hold that against them.
The club won its first trophy in 1923/24 and its most recent in 2007/8
The club had played uninterrupted from 1894 bar one year in 2000, where it did not field a team. However, the club returned to action in 2001 and has continued happily since.
Name that club.
The answer will be in Saturday’s issue of THE SPECIAL – TRUE FAITH’S matchday Newsletter which is available FREE on subscription. You can sign up here and have it e-mailed bright and early into your inbox.
