Several news lines – including this one – click here are reporting United are in advanced talks to sign PSG’s 20-year-old defender Moussa Sissako. Some headlines last night doubtless generated a bit of pearl-clutching and click-bait but it’s not the pudding the club flogged to Spurs for big bucks three years ago.

The enclosed report speculates that under Thomas Tuchel at PSG the lad has no future in Paris and a fee – believed to be around 2 mill has been agreed with personal terms sorted as well. Its is considered the lad has potential – hence the long term contract he was on at PSG but it would appear that is not being realised quickly enough and the 20-year-old Frenchman is ready to leave. The lad had been on Brighton’s radar 12 months ago.

This and other deals with Nice and elsewhere with PSG indicates United are back to France scouting players with a vengeance. Whether there is a relationship wit a specific agency as there was with Sports Mondial in Graeme Carr’s days remains to be seen. We’ll have to dig into that one.
