Ayoze Perez has joined Leicester City. A fee of 30 millions has been quoted. in his opening statement to Leicester he has referred to people and elements (in bold) painfully absent from Newcastle United and who can blame him for wanting out of the basket-case on Barrack Road:

“I’m very happy and very pleased. I’m very proud to be part of the Leicester family and I can’t wait to get started. The club want to keep growing as much as they can and that’s something I like. I spoke with the manager and that was important. That made me feel very comfortable about the decision to come here. He’s such a great manager. We all know what we can do playing under him. Obviously, he’s been a big part of the deal, to make the decision, and in this case to come to Leicester. City have made no secret of their ambition to qualify for European football again, and Perez knows there will be pressure on him to score the goals to help City realise that dream. As a collective we have to keep looking forward to get into the European positions. That’s the ambition, that’s how we have to think. As a striker I have to help the team as much as I can with goals. That is my main target. If I can score more goals than last season, that’s the way I think. I can’t wait until that day comes [home debut]. It’s a great stadium and I have played a couple of times there”.

Sighs.
