GOING? – Today’s latest is Isaac Hayden may be wanted by West Ham (as well as perhaps Brighton) but United are said to have put a value on the lad of about £15m, which to yours truly seems modest given his performances over the latter half of the season. The Star reports that should West Ham fail to land Everton’s Andre Gomes – click here they will turn their attentions to our much liked lad. If he does go (and it looks like he will), he’ll be a big miss and its a bloody shame as the lad is a good, solid professional and under Rafa’s coaching will develop further. Bah!
GONE? – Mo Diame has been released by United to no-one ‘s great surprise. Rafa avoided giving him the games towards the end of the season that would have automatically triggered an extra year for the lad. There’s a great piece by TF gaffer, Alex Hurst and you can get at it here if you missed it.
With the expected touch of class Rafa said: “Mo has been a great servant to Newcastle United in his three years here. He has given us a lot on and off the pitch and we wish him well for the future”.
It’s reported Mo may be considering a move to Qatar.
Other players leaving are mainly junior players including Cal Roberts, Josef Yarney, Tyrique Bartlett, Juanito, Otto Huuhtanen and Stefan O’Connor, as well as scholars Max Allen, Thomas Cole, Sam Joyce and Deece Kasinga Madia,
STAYING – However, there are new and extended deals for Tom Allan, Owen Bailey, Daniel Barlaser, Lewis Cass, Liam Gibson, Nathan Harker, Mo Sangare and Oliver Walters, and to second-year scholars Ryan Barrett, Dan Langley and Jack Young.
INCOMING? – Interesting to read that Daniel Sturridge has been released by Liverpool. There are two hopes of Sturridge joining United – Bob Hope and No Hope. Sturridge snubbed United the season before least to join West Brom where he familiarised himself with the treatment room but we hear his father approved of the loan at the Hawthorns.
Rangers radge Colombian Alfredo Morelos looks set to leave Ibrox this summer and his name has been mentioned as a potential arrival at SJP this summer. Morelos is thought to fancy a move to the PL and United’s name has been thrown into the mix. As has Eintracht Frankfurt.
But who can see any players being signed while we’re in the club is in now with a manager with weeks left on his contract and a takeover pending?
Expect more kite flying over the next weeks and months. Same old …
