The Magpie Group have outlined its plans for further protest action at the running of Newcastle United by Mike Ashley. It might be opportune to spell out what it is we find so objectionable in Ashley’s running of United that underpins these protests and a desire for him to sell the club and allow a new owner to grow United to its potential: lack of investment in every area of the club’s operations (bar the purchase of Sports Direct signage), including players, the training ground, academy and even maintenance of St James’ Park.

The protests are as follows:

3/Nov/18 – Leaflet Protest at St James’ Park ahead of the Watford game.

10/Nov/18 – No protest ahead of the Bournemouth game in recognition of Remembrance Sunday.

17/Nov/18 – Protest at Sports Direct, Shirebrook

1/Dec/18 – Delayed arrival into St James’ Park by 11 minutes to commemorate eleven rotten years of Ashley’s ownership of Newcastle United

5/Dec/18 – Joint Protest at Sports Direct, Liverpool ahead of the Everton game.

9/Dec/18 – a complete boycott of the televised game v Wolves

22/Dec/18 – protest outside Sports Direct, Northumberland St.

26/Dec/18 – joint protest at Sports Direct Liverpool ahead of the Liverpool game.

There is a public meeting at the Tyneside Irish Centre, 1/Nov/18 when those attending will be able to ask questions, make suggestions but more importantly, volunteer your services.
