Terry McDermott has revealed via the media that he has been diagnosed with dementia. Full details via BBC click here

I think all Newcastle United supporters will wish Terry Mac all the very best in his fight against a horrible disease. We wish him, his family friends all the very, very best as Terry faces this challenge.

Although a proud Scouser with a strong connection to Liverpool FC – as a result of five League Championships and three European Cups amongst other silverware, Terry is also an adopted Geordie. McDermott has had several spells at St James’ Park, most notably as part of Joe Harvey’s entertaining team of the 1970s, as a player in the promotion side of the 1980s alongside his great friend Kevin Keegan but also with KK as his “buffer” in those great years of the 90s.

Terry has also made his home in the city and is without question, universally liked for his warmth of character and ready wit. A canny lad if ever there was one.

We wish Terry Mac all the very, very best and hope to see him at matches at St James’ Park – amongst people who regard him very fondly for everything he has done for our football club.

All the vest Terry from everyone at TRUE FAITH.
