As regular readers of this old toffee will know we have been selling the enclosed t-shirt since the start of the season and we are really grateful to those of you who have bought it.
All of the proceeds from the sale of the t-shirt will be donated to the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation, which we are of course proud to be long-standing supporters.
However, it is time to draw sales of the t-shirt to a close and we’d love to be in a position to make the donation to the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation early next month and wrap up our charitable efforts with this as we head towards the end of the season.
This t-shirt will be sold up until the end of January and then it will be sold no longer.
The t-shirt contains a beautiful and unique image of Sir Bobby and includes his famous quote which for many goes to the very essence of what being a football supporter means as well as sums up our love of the beautiful game. Here are Bobby’s words:
What is a club in any case? Not the buildings or the directors or the people who are paid to represent it. It’s not the television contracts, get-out clauses, marketing departments or executive boxes. It’s the noise, the passion, the feeling of belonging, the pride in your city. It’s a small boy clambering up stadium steps for the very first time, gripping his father’s hand, gawping at that hallowed stretch of turf beneath him and, without being able to do a thing about it, falling in love – Sir Bobby Robson.
The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation raises money to fund clinical trials in the fight against cancer, a disease which took SBR from us but I’m sure which has touched the lives of many of you reading this. Many people in the North East and beyond have given their time and efforts in a far greater way than us selling a t-shirt but if we make even the smallest contribution then we think it will be worthwhile.
The t-shirt is now on sale at £15 plus P+P. To see a bigger image of the t-shirt, click on the image enclosed.

Many thanks to you all who have supported this fund-raising for the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation.
