ALEX HURST (@tfalex1892) with his verdict on Eddie’s away day Mags, on a triumphant night in the East Midlands.

Pope – 6 – A spectator apart from the time Sven B tried to get him unnecessarily involved. Solid throughout and a traditional ‘big save with his feet’ at 1-1 as Forest mustered a rare shot. Credit to him for making the game after last week and the Wolves lad throwing himself into Pope instead of calmly slotting the ball into an empty net

Trippier  – 8 – That right hand side was on fire all night. Forest couldn’t cope and it’s all thanks to KT. International class.

Schar – 8 – Won everything in the air and most of it on the ground. Big moment at 0-1 and he goes over and has a big word with Sven. One of the leaders.

Botman – 4 – Disaster for the goal and it seemed to mess with his head. Passing was way off all night. He’ll be back.

Burn – 7 – Booked for griefing the lino when actually it was the rarest of things in the first half, a correct decision. Never beaten after that and defensively solid.

Bruno – 7 – played RCM in the first half and couldn’t get into it. Restored to CM second half and ran rings around them. Kept his head when being kicked and dragged all over the shop. Could and should have scored. Threads it all together and none of their lads could get near him.

Longstaff – 7 – second half was involved in loads and unlucky not to score tonight. He’s much better when he’s moving the ball quickly and driving into their box. Looks the part more and more at the moment.

Willock – 8 – No England call up for the lad who does mad shit like make chances for players and get assists. Doesn’t play for Chelsea though. Full of confidence and lovely ball for the first goal even if it was a bit behind Alexander. Playing the football of his career.

Murphy – 6 – contributed and Forest didn’t really have a solution for him first half. Need more from him when well placed. He’ll do nicely though while Gordon and Almiron are out.

ASM – 3 – Hooked at HT and rightly so. Was he injured?  Who knows.  Apparently he was.  But the big question was whether he could put in two performances in a row. He wasn’t even that good last week. But no. No he couldn’t. He’s away in the summer. An impact player from here.  Injury tonight or otherwise.

Isak – 10 – Yes I’m euphoric and yes maybe this is hyperbolic but have we seen a better footballer at our place? Maybe not the best striker or goalscorer (yet) but in terms of ability on the ball in the box, he’s up there. Obscene first, outrageous cross for the disallowed one and then won and scored the pen. This is the Internet and I’m allowed to be happy, but also annoyed Eddie hasn’t picked him more before now. But what do I know, apart from Isak is absolutely fucking class!

Subs:-

Anderson – 8 – made a difference. Should have had a pen and a goal. It’ll happen for the lad. He’s got it.

Ritchie – 6 – felt like he was brought on to provide evidence that ghosts exist. He and Jonjo doing their own testimonial for the defeat in 2016, complete with shit officials (turns out technology wasn’t the answer).
