Foundation Hands Over Cheque To Sacriston Community FC

Newcastle United Foundation has handed over a cheque for £3,848 to Sacriston Community Football Club in Sir Bobby Robson’s home town.

The funds were raised as part of National Football Day on Saturday 10 August when Newcastle United drew 1-1 with Portuguese side SC Braga in a pre-season Friendly.

Tony Threlfall, football development officer at the Foundation presented the cheque to chairman Fraser Reynolds and the under 11 team. The monies will boost Sacriston FC’s refurbishment project.

Tony said: “We are delighted to present Sacriston FC with proceeds raised from the pre-season friendly. The day was all about showcasing football at grassroots level and what better way than to support Sir Bobby’s local junior football team.”
