I couldn’t get to North Shields FA Vase win last Saturday but I wish I had. North Shields, like many other non-league clubs in the North East are the crown jewels of our football heritage and there is a definite buzz about the place, due it has to be said to their fans and in particular the North Shields Ultras. A fine body of radgies and no mistake.
They aren’t the only smashing club we have on our doorsteps however and thanks to a growing friendship between this gob-shite fanzine and the fine upstanding people who run Northern League club, Heaton Stann (a’reet Hendy) we are delighted to announce that all Newcastle United season ticket holders will be able to get into their game with Ryton & Crawcrook at Groundsell Park at a reduced price of only £2 this Saturday.
It would be wonderful if we could add a good number to the Stan gate.
As well as only costing a mere £2 to get in, the Stan club house has beer at £2:40 a pint and even some Real Ales on the go. You can visit the Stann website here:
For those that don’t know, The Stann play in rather fetching Black & White stripes, wear black shorts and black socks and have this familiar crest on the shirt. Not many of you will be disappointed to learn they don’t have a loan shark across the front of their shirt and the pitch isn’t surrounded by ‘kin Sports Direct shit.
If some of you want to congregate somewhere near the pitch and sing the correct words to the Blaydon Races or maybe stuff about Mirandinha not being from Argentina or how we are better than Glasgow Rangers and Celtic too or how Joe Harvey took a plane and went to Budapest or about goling to heaven in a Black & White bonnet, you know I don’t think anyone is going to object and a canny few might even join in. Don’t forget to buy a copy of the programme if you get along as well.
We hope to be recording some footage of the game and fans who get along to wa-hey, you might get on the telly (whey, You Tube via TF)
We might see you afterwards in the Hussar for a good swally with a growing number of Mags who have just had enough of the sad excuse for a football club served up by Ashley, Charnley and Carver on Barrack Road.
But whether its Whickham, Ashington, Blyth, Northallerton or Billingham ..we obviously hope you have a great time.
Keep On, Keepin’ On …
