No Newcastle United this weekend but there is plenty of the North East’s fantastic non-league fixture card to get into with a whole range of different competitions on the go.

For us though, the 2nd Round of the FA Vase is where its at as the region’s club look to continue it’s phenomenal record of retaining the trophy up here.

I may very well pop down to Dunston for their game with Worksop Town but there is plenty of choice with Bedlington Terriers taking on Newcastle Benfield and North Shields facing Knaresborough Town at The Morgue.

Durham Mags might look of the West Auckland v Billingham Town game as well.

We really are spoilt for choice and if you need a wider choice from our Northern League clubs, just click here for details.

The magnificent Blyth Spartans are at home to Leamington and for what its worth, there is no finer place to watch non-league football in the North East than Croft Park.

Unfortunately, Gateshead are away to Maidenhead and South Shields are likewise on the road to Stafford Rangers, so for anyone on the south bank of the Tyne who fancies taking a game in are recommended to head to Dunston to see if the Blues can recapture The Vase that they last won in 2012.

If you do get along to any non-league game this weekend, remember to tip up for raffle tickets, a pie, pint, cup of tea, raffle ticket and a bit of merchandise.

The non-league scene is a valuable part of our football culture and needs our support.
