Charity Ale, AGM and Rangers Revisited
The award-winning local brewery donated 5p from every pint sold to the Trust for them to share among their chosen charities – Northern Money and children’s cancer charity the Toma Fund. Michael Thewlis, from the Trust said: “Our members want us to play an active role in supporting our local communities and organisations to help raise their profile and this beer – brewed especially for the Trust – has helped us to do that again.” Martin Hammill, brewery manager at Hadrian Border Brewery said: “We were happy to get involved again with the Trust and their chosen charities. The NUST beer – Black and White Ale – sold really well again, like it did in the Spring of last year, so we knew it would sell well again. The sales of the beer helped us raise £230 to support the Trust’s aims and worthy local organisations and we will definitely run the beer again later this year.” Andrea Thompson, Founder of Toma Fund said: “Toma Fund is delighted to be associated with the Newcastle United Supporters’ Trust again. This is a fabulous initiative and I am sure it will be popular not just with fans but with everyone who has an association with the north east. Gavin Hennessey of Northern Money, said: “We are really pleased to continue our involvement with the Trust to help us spread the word about the range of financial services available in our communities across the north east. Our network of over 20 credit unions in the region provide advice on saving and borrowing, and our savings and loan rates are among some of the most competitive around.” Pictured left to right at Hadrian Border Brewery: Andrea Thompson from Toma Fund, Martin Hammill from Hadrian Border Brewery, Gavin Hennessey from Northern Money and Michael Thewlis from Newcastle United Supporters’ Trust.
