Well that was a bit more like it. Newcastle United gained a well earned point in the sunshine against a very average Manchester United team. Being a resident in the most arrogant city in the world meant yesterday was a nice easy trip for me. On my walk to town I bumped in to the team where I had a quick chat with Stevie Black who’s a good pal of my old mans. Blackie will be great addition to the club he’s like us he bleeds B&W.

will that lot ever get over him turning down. Sad bunch of glory hunting bastards.
Newcastle made 3 changes to the team that were outclassed at Swansea last week. Mitrovic for Cisse was the one that pleased me most with the latter being fkin hopeless in Wales last week.
Man United started brightly with Newcastle look a little of the pace. Rooney, rightly, had a goal ruled off for offside. After which Newcastle started to get a foothold in the game with Anita and Colback starting to control the tempo. OnAnita I must single the lad out for praise, I’ve not always been his biggest fan but he did all simple stuff well and equally made a winner of about every trophy going look extremely pedestrian.
As the first half went on we really started to get on top. Perez and Gino looking a threat on the counter with good pace and great footwork. The latter looking like he’s eased to life in the PL. Newcastle could’ve taken the lead when Mitro, who was a fantastic nuisance all afternoon, hit the bar after a superb ball in from Mbemba. From the away end it looked like it was in.
The support from our end was top notch yesterday. No clapping, no songs about sniffing gear, just good old fashioned raucous Newcastle United support. When its like that nobody matches it.
Just before Half time Newcastle went close with Perez having a chance just drag wide. Coming to the end of the first half we’d well n truly weathered the storm.
The second half was quite tight till Carrick came on for Manure and started to dictate the tempo. It depresses me greatly that the lad’s never played in B&W. In the last 20 minutes we defended superb. Colo, who was imperious throughout, rolled back the years to put in a superb captains display. Stevie Taylor also deserves a mention. When plays like he did yesterday he’s a good centre half.
With 10 minutes to go Krul made a superb save from Hernandez. It was starting to edgy, we’ve all been here before. After that Smalling had a head superbly blocked off the line by Anita, after which the real UNITED broke with Thauvin, Gino and Cisse who’s ball was inches of Thauvin’s toe.
After what felt like another 5 minutes of added time the ref blew on what was a solid strong display.
We rode our luck but we deserved a point there. It certainly made the beers in the Manc sunshine taste a lot better.
Keep the faith, roll on next week.

Michael AC are not in the CL, as for being a step down, after spending a third more than us to get in the CL we will see who achieves that aim first. As for status bigger than the 7 times EC/CL winners that is some statement (pint of what you’ve been drinking) if argument based on finance then Bournemouth if they finish bottom will receive £103m yes more than AC will receive in Serie A.Bournemouth a bigger club!! Is it all coming to this, argument about finances and money. Facile.
Had so much fun wotching this one surrounded by whinging mancs from China/London/France/ kashaakastan/ Alnwick (lol) and one big scary bearded Bugga from…..wait for it Manchester. We were all seated in a bar in sunny Portugal a small group of four one of whom stayed on coke ( aged 6) the lads did us proud and we roared them on outnumbered at least 20 to 1 , when they over appealed for a penalty second half couldn’t help giving the whole red army bar a massive fuck off!!! And beer fuelled death stare …….hahah the big Geoff capes manc shit himself most……lol Dutch courage. Thanks for crowning my week in the algarve steve Mac and toon soldiers.
I really wish SKY and the press would stop referring to Rooney’s ‘goal’ as a controversial offside. Nothing controversial about it. He was offside. Correct decision. Sorted.
At last, a centre forward who gets stuck in and makes life difficult for anyone marking him. It’s all very well having the likes of Ba and Cisse but they are too easily knocked off the ball.
I’m new to the teon but this is a really good round up for us dedicated fans, thanks.
