The long journey down to Leicester wasn’t worth it for the Newcastle United supporters, as Leicester City brush the Magpies aside with ease.
Ricardo Pereira opened the scoring in the 16th minute. There was no pressure from the Newcastle players, Pereira made no mistake in tucking the ball in the bottom corner. A needless and reckless tackle by Isaac Hayden in the 43rd minute saw the Magpies go down to 10 men. The numerical advantage saw Leicester run riot in the second half. Newcastle can count themselves lucky that it wasn’t more than 5-0.
The Newcastle supporters were out in force once more, a performance like that makes one wonder if the club deserve such a loyal and fantastic following. The worrying thing for Newcastle is that was no fight, desire or passion for the shirt. Supporters should not pay they hard earned money to watch a side perform so badly. If there needed to be any confirmation that Newcastle are relegation candidates, the performance against Leicester rubber stamped it.
Lost and devoid of ideas, Newcastle are in real trouble. A change in manager is the obvious answer, however, the club will not act quickly enough to save themselves from the relegation trap door.
It appears as though Steve Bruce has lost the dressing room already. With Manchester United at home and Chelsea away in the next two fixtures, it may well be a long time before Newcastle supporters see their side pick up three points again.
