Right NUFC, “Don’t go breaking my heart!” Like ourselves, the Hornets are very much down with the dead men and this upcoming fixture is probably more crucial than the double header with Norwich and Burnley.

Eddie Howe told us in his presser last week that Cambridge was a must win. Well Eddie, this one is even more important.

The less said about the Cambridge performance the better. To rub salt into the wounds, The Mags also killed my 8 fold acca for a heart-breaking £965!!! What was I thinking? That was very much a case of “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road!” “I Guess That’s Why They Call it the Blues.”

Incredibly, with only a solitary league (and cup!) win under wor belts, having smashed out 21 fixtures to date, we are still within striking distance of getting out of the relegation zone, so we need to know that “Saturday Night’s alright” for us come 5 bells this weekend. Three much needed points will take us above our opponents and as long as Burnley fail to beat Leicester at home, we’ll be out of the mire…. For now!

Watford arrive at Barrack Road on the back of 7 consecutive defeats, and their gaffa, Claudio “ The Tinkerman” Ranieri is probably close to getting his cards. It doesn’t look like their Italian bossman has worked those “Healing Hands” yet. Will he run out of time? If history is anything to go by, he could well be “Sacrificed” come the end of this month.

The Hornets have somehow managed to retain their talisman, Emmanuel Dennis, despite his call up to the AFCON with Nigeria, but I’m relieved that Ismaila Sarr made the trip to Cameroon. Dennis has bagged an impressive 8 goals in 17 starts for Watford this season, and he’s one we’ll need to keep a close eye on if we want to avoid witnessing one of his thunder-bastards!

Running through Watford’s current roster, they have a smattering of former Mags amongst their ranks. Dan Gosling, Danny “keeping the local chippy in business” Rose, Moussa Sissoko and Rob Elliot are all on their payroll, but it looks like the only one of those we’ll see don the yellow on Saturday is Sissoko.

In the return fixture earlier in the season, we dominated Watford, and only came away with a 1-1 draw, with Jacob Murphy missing a golden chance to snatch it at the death! If you want to relive the highlights, then take a gander here – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4DIUmPLcHK0 I mean, I’m sure Jacob has a “Good Heart” but that miss was inexcusable!

With Saturday very much at the forefront of our minds, who’s stepping up for the Toon? Who “Just wants to be King?”

Eddie needs to give his entire squad a “Rocket Man!” Players like Shelvey, ASM and Fraser all need to stand up and be counted! I’m getting a bit frustrated that all St Maximin seems to be doing on the pitch is looking like a “Tiny Dancer” He needs to get his bloody head up, look for runners and improve his end product pronto!

I’m hopeful that we’ll add some more quality to this bang average squad by the time Local Hero blasts out on Saturday. It looks like we’re being held to ransom on one or two of the deals we want to do, but that’s just the “Circle of Life.” As I write this, Chris Wood looks like he’s joining the revolution, and I’ve read mixed feelings about this one, but I’m delighted we’re bagging him. £25m has been touted and many saying it’s a crazy amount of cash for a 30 year old. Who gives a shit? It’s not our dough boys and girls!!  Hopefully this will push ASM back out wide, and he can get back to being the talismanic “Pinball Wizard” that we know he can be. Don’t worry about how much we spend on particular players, just be happy that Mike Ashley isn’t still at the helm or we’ll be living our lives like a “Candle in the Wind.”

So it’s onto prediction time. I think we’ll go into this one a lot more focused than the cup game, and I see a win. A narrow one, but I’m going for a 2-1 win that will see us out of the relegation mire and “Looking up” for the first time this season.
