Its a topic which has exercised many a bar-room debate between Mags – who was the greatest player to have ever pulled on a Newcastle United shirt?
Milburn? Beardsley? Shearer? Gallacher?
Colin Veitch?
The contribution of this man to the history of our football club, the city and the game is staggering. If anyone should have a statue outside St James’ Park, its this great man.
There is a talk from the excellent Chris Goulding this coming Thursday, 8/May/14 at 2pm at the Discovery Museum in Newcastle.
You will need to book a ticket but if you are free you could find a lot worse ways to put an afternoon than listening to Chris talk about this brilliant and fascinating son of our club.
The greatest ever Newcastle United player? I think so.

You’ll not find a better way to spend £2 plus booking fee.
That is all.
I believe that Colin was a relative of mine. My grand mother’s name was Hannah Veitch. I will try and attend on Thursday
Hi there, i’m very interested to learn more about this former player as i have recently learnt that he is a relative of mine and my family.
I’d love to come on Thursday but as i live and work in London it’s not possible.
Thank you
Graham Veitch
