The True Faith hosted ‘The Future of Newcastle United’ event in aid of the NUFC Fans Foodbank on Thursday 18th November. All 180 tickets sold out within 24 hours and the Tyneside Irish Centre provided the venue for free. The six journalists who made up the panellists on the night (George Caulkin, Craig Hope, Keith Downie, Ciaran Kelly, Chris Waugh, Simon Bird) also donated their time for no charge to help raise money for the charity selected.
George Caulkin delivered the following message on behalf of Director at Newcastle United, Jamie Reuben;
“On behalf of the new ownership group, I’d like to say a huge thank you to all Newcastle United fans for the overwhelming warmth and passion of your welcome. These are early days and there’s a huge amount to do, but we’re determined to help the club fulfil its potential and we’re all incredibly excited to see what Eddie, his staff and the players can achieve.
Well done to True Faith for organising tonight’s event and thanks to all of you for supporting the NUFC Fans Foodbank, It’s a cause I feel strongly about – my family’s Foundation are matching every cash donation made on home match days this season – and whatever is raised this evening will directly help people struggling to put food on their tables in this beautiful, unique city. Isn’t this what being United means?
Thank you again, have a great night and here’s to three points on Saturday..
Everyone at True Faith is delighted Jamie took the time to communicate to supporters at this event. Intelligent, articulate and meaningful communication has been sorely missed in the last 14 years and we are grateful to Jamie for deciding to write this message.
